Today we are looking at a new welder. This is a multi process welder that can run on both 120 and 220 volt power. I'd say this is a very good welder for a beginner welding trying to learn how to weld flux core or mig. The end results are not what I would call ...

Never had any trouble with my Dodge trucks or cars, but I leave them origional, I don't alter anything and maintain them on schedule. Engine and transmissions on them are bombproof, all have Dana 60 rears, can't kill em. I have had a few amp meters smoke out, usually because of loose or corroded terminals and fixed that easily, the only weak spot I've found is the solid state voltage regulator so I keep a backup in the glove box and spare brushes for the alternator. That's it!

Beware the evil fuel filters, the elements are bonded with foam and fall apart or get blown out when run in the noted orientation. This will allow particulate and or foam to pass and can clog injectors / carb jets. Speaking from personal experience with these. Fought a tune for a while before I figured it out.

Hello, the engine should start your engine out of the box even with no map sensor. If you plan to drive the car with no map sensor, you'll need a laptop to turn the map sensor off in the software and create a 2D timing table. If you try to drive around without the map sensor on the factory settings, you could cause damage to the engine

  • @whatatool

Another note, with electric choke, if your high idle screw is in too far, as in all the way like mine was, it will not allow your curb idle to be set properly. You may think that the choke system has nothing to do with these adjustments because you are doing it when its hot, but it does. Your high idle adjustment holds open the butterfly just a tickle on choke. If it doesn't kick out all the way after warm, it will continue to hold that butterfly open at idle, thus exposing your transfer slots too much. This will render your curb idle and idle mixture screws useless. It will cause surging at idle and cause a stumble off idle as well. You should be able to kill the engine by turning the curb idle out too much. If you can't, theres a problem. Once your curb idle is set, you should be able to kill the engine by screwing in the idle mixture screws all the way. If this doesn't happen, your engine is recieving fuel from somewhere it should not be(ie: transfer slots that are too exposed) On the other side of the spectrum, make sure your choke butterfly is opening all the way when hot. If this doesn't happen, you will be trying to adjust everything while slightly choked. I am aware other things may cause these same symptoms, this is just one example of tail chasing that I experienced. Hopefully this helps someone as I beat my head against the wall trying to figure this out. This was on a 4160 carb that I got for free that was "running when parked" lol
